Rebate amount will be calculated as:
[Number of PV Modules] x [Watts] x [Inverter Efficiency] x [$4.50/W] = Rebate
The standard rebate level is $4.50 per watt (including nonprofit organizations)
Rebates for residential customers are capped at 80% cost / $13,500, whichever is less.
Rebates for commercial customers are capped at 80% of cost /$100,000, whichever is less.
The current rebate maximum is valid at each location for the life of the program.
Depending on the total commercial rebate amount, City Council approval may be required.
Customer will be provided a Letter of Intent (LOI) after rebate application is received and approved (valid for 120 days), assuming the solar system meets program guidelines. New Construction will have an 8 month LOI. (Extentions may be granted on a per case basis.)
Customers have the option to assign the rebate directly to the PV system installer. From the date of Inspection, it takes an average of 8 weeks to recieve your rebate check.
Austin Energy offers rebates to all-electric residential or business customers.
Rebates from $1500 to $2000
A 30% tax credit of $750 to $1,000
A total net savings of $2250 to $3000
